LAS VEGAS – Coffee Pacifica, Inc., announced that it has a limited time special introductory offer of roasted whole bean “Penlyne Castle” “Jamaican Blue Mountain” coffee to commemorate the approvals granted by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica.
Mr. O’Neil Blake, General Manager of Blue Mountain Coffee Co-operative (“BMCC”), stated: “Completion of all agreements, on behalf of our 3,000 coffee farmers, heralds a new era in the history of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee production. We are proud to be a part of a global “Growers Direct” distribution network that Coffee Pacifica offers our coffee farmers. The benefits our individual farmers can realize with Coffee Pacifica’s business model will allow us to rapidly expand our volumes of production in the future.”
Mr. O’Neil Blake further commented on Hurricane Dean that: “We have received the official report from the Coffee Industry Board (CIB) of Jamaica. The overall picture for Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee crop damage indicates that 40% of the production has been affected. However, I am pleased to report that any reduction in BMCC’s annual processing capacity should be minimal. We have been in the field assessing our individual farms and Parishes from which we derive our coffees. Two factors which cause us to believe no negative impact will be experienced are: 1) we approved to expand our purchasing areas to include the Parishes of Portland and St Andrew, which increases the volume of the coffee beans we receive, and, 2) the agreement with Coffee Pacifica, Inc., to represent our “Penlyne Castle” coffee has been well received by our coffee farmers. This is a start of a long and prosperous relationship with Coffee Pacifica which is expected to assist our coffee farmers in the Blue Mountain region of Jamaica.”
