UGANDA — UE the main market
BELFAST – The European Union has accounted for an increased share of Uganda’s monthly coffee exports since the start of the 2006/07 (Oct/Sep) season, according to the Uganda Coffee Development
Authority (UCDA). In October the EU accounted for 73.6%, rising to 80.0% in November, 80.4% in December and then 87.0% in January.
Uganda’s total January exports reached 316,128 bags (60 kg) and 274,888 bags of the monthly figure went to the EU.
The Sudan has the second largest market share, accounting for 11.1% (35,010 bags) in January as opposed to 12.5% in December. Africa as a whole had a market share of 12.2% last month compared with 15.3% in December.
