SCAE – Mick Wheeler in the spotlight at Anaheim

Mick Wheeler, Executive Director of Scae was put in the spotlight in Anaheim, California where he was presented with a Special Recognition Award by The Speciality Coffee Association of America, (Scaa) at their Annual Exposition on the West Coast.
 
Ric Rhinehart, Executive Director of Scaa said he was only too familiar with the challenges of drawing out and synthesising the talents of a wide and diverse membership, but Mick had also skilfully dealt with the added challenge of conducting all this while negotiating the diverse languages and cultures of Scae.
 
Mick who was one of the founding fathers of Scae  said he was proud of a number of significant initiatives undertaken during his tenure, notably that of the hugely successful World Barista Championship.
 
Steve Penk, Vice President of SCAE said ‘He was delighted that Mick Wheeler had been recognised by the industry for all his sterling endeavours over the last eleven years.  Mick has worked tirelessly to promote Speciality Coffee from the Board Room and pan-European events to field trips around the coffee world.’.
