SCAE Gold Cup Brewmaster course scheduled for October 7

The next in the series of successful Gold Cup Brewmaster courses is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 at the SCAE’s headquarters at Bicknacre, Chelmsford, Essex.
The intensive one-day course, which concludes with written and practical examinations, covers a range of topics in higher quality filter coffee preparation. These include an introduction to the SCAE’s Gold Cup programme, a basic overview of coffee roasting for filter brewing, as well as instruction in grinding for filter brewing and basic and advanced filter brewing methods, along with tasting and measuring sessions.
Attendees on the course will also learn the six essentials of good coffee, and how to measure brews scientifically. Those who pass the exams at the end of the course will be certified as a Level One SCAE Gold Cup Brewmaster.
Each of the popular courses is open to only 16 participants, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The fee for the one-day course, which includes lunch on-site, is €200 per person, which must be paid prior to the course. Information about local accommodation and directions to the SCAE offices will be provided for attendees.
