Despite increased prices for coffee, retail sales increased in value by 5% in the twelve months to July, a report by market analysts A C Nielsen said in late September.
Sales volume was not changed, at 26,000t, but the average retail price of the country’s four most popular coffee products rose by between 7% and 11%.
One kilogram of roast and ground coffee was up 7%, at HUF1,704 (€6.38) in July, Nielsen said.
The value of the whole Hungarian retail coffee market in the twelve-month period was just over HUF50bn (€187m), the report added.
