NEW YORK, Aug. 31, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Jittery Joe’s Coffee has opened
its
first cafe in New York City. The college-friendly coffeehouse is located
at LIM
College’s newly-expanded Maxwell Hall (216 East 45th St. – Manhattan).
The cafe
is open to the public in addition to serving the College’s community
of more
than 1,500 students, faculty and staff.
Jittery Joe’s Coffee is an Athens, Georgia-based micro-roaster and
coffeehouse.
With this opening, the Company will now have thirteen cafes,
several of which
are located on college campuses. Jittery Joe’s has gained a
national following
through both their cafes and wholesale business, making
their coffee available
through Whole Foods Markets as well as bike shops
throughout the U.S.
“Over the past 15 years, we have established a reputation of serving
great
tasting coffee, roasted daily in Athens using some of the finest coffee
beans in
the world,” says Michael Ripps, President of Jittery Joe’s Coffee.
“We are
excited about this partnership with LIM College and the opportunity
to share our
micro-roasted coffee with the students and faculty at LIM
College, as well as
the people of New York City.”
“LIM College is very pleased to welcome Jittery Joe’s Coffee to our
campus,”
says LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse. “The addition of
Jittery Joe’s
is a significant milestone as we increase our range of campus
facilities and
student services. As most everyone who has ever been a college
student would
probably agree, it’s great to have good coffee readily
available while you’re
studying or just relaxing on campus.”
Jittery Joe’s Coffee opened its first location in 1994 in downtown Athens.
Their
Wholesale Division also provides coffee to restaurants, hotels and
other
retailers across the U.S. Jittery Joe’s separates itself from other
roasters by
selecting only the top one percent of coffee beans in the world
and
micro-roasting each batch. They also offer custom blends and varietals
that
include organic Fair Trade and Direct Trade options.
