MILAN – Nestle India is working on a series of initiatives to reduce use of natural resources and cut costs, report local media.
Some of the steps being taken by the company include utilising steam generated in its boilers for substituting fresh water. It also reuses waste water after treatment to reduce fresh water intake. Besides, the company uses waste cashew shells and coffee husk as alternative fuel for boilers.
With the help of these steps, Nestle had been able to reduce water wastage by around 70%, said a company spokesperson.
