EMMERICH ON THE RHINE – The roasting machine and plant manufacturer Probat is opening a new service location for the Asia-Pacific region in Shanghai. In collaboration with the local Fudapack office, a specialist staff will support Probat’s customers.
Shorter waiting times for technical enquiries As of June 2010, two Probat service technicians will be working in the Asia-Pacific region to commission, maintain and repair Probat equipment in the various facilities.
“This decision was made based on our increasing market share in the region. In order to fulfil the demands of a growing number of clients extending the service was an important issue for Probat.
By doing so, we are able to directly support our market base more efficiently and also reduce customer costs. Being in Shanghai significantly reduces reaction and travel time”, Frank Nitz, Head of Order Processing at Probat, explains. Probat will be coordinating the technicians’ assignments centrally from its headquarters in Germany.
Collaboration with experienced partners “We are very satisfied with Jesse Zhang, Managing Director of Fudapack, with whom we have been collaborating for many years. Therefore Probat is very pleased to announce that this company is one of the first Probat-authorized service locations.
This is part of our new concept to be at the core of the Asian market”, Nitz continues. Before the technicians take up their first maintenance and repair assignments, they will be undergoing extensive training to familiarize themselves with the equipment and the Asian market.
Experienced Probat service technicians and construction managers will be running the training course for roasting machines and plant technology “on the job”. Helena Ho of Fudapack, a certified trainer who also conducts customer training, will be providing staff with the requisite coffee knowledge.
