DJ Colombia 2010 Coffee Output Seen At 10M-10.5M Bags – Fedecafe

BOGOTA (Dow Jones)–Colombia\’s coffee output in 2010 will likely reach between 10 million and 10.5 million sixty-kilogram bags, up from 7.8 million bags in 2009, the General Manager of Colombia\’s National Federation of Coffee Growers, or Fedecafe, said Wednesday.

The Fedecafe\’s top official, Luis Genaro Munoz, said the output in June was likely around 900,000 bags and over the first half of the year was probably between 4.2 million and 4.3 million bags.

The official data for June and the first half of this year will be released in the coming days.
The output in the second half of the year likely will be around 6 million bags, Munoz said.
Colombia is the world\’s largest producer of mild washed arabica coffee. It was the fourth-largest producer overall after Brazil, Vietnam and Indonesia in the 2008-09 crop cycle.|
