The island’s coffee farmers have suffered a setback with the lawsuit they had filed seeking compensation for losses suffered in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan last year.
It has emerged that a court hearing into the matter has been delayed until next year.
This is due to a legal challenge brought by attorney’s representing the liquidator of the failed Dyoll Insurance Company.

According to Director-General of the Coffee Industry Board, Graham Dunkley, the legal team representing Dyoll’s liquidator had taken issue with the lawyers representing the Board.
The coffee farmers had filed legal action to get the Court to separate funds for the payment of coffee farmers from other schemes in the ongoing liquidation of Dyoll.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the 6,000 coffee farmers who were facing lengthy delays in getting claims settled due to the collapse of Dyoll Insurance.
