CENTRAL AMERICA – El Salvador to strengthen ties with Germany and Russia

MILAN – The government of El Salvador will strengthen its relations with Germany and Russia, according to a government report.
 
The country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hugo Martinez is visiting Berlin today and tomorrow and then will continue to Moscow, where he will stay until 23, the press release also informed.
 
Martinez stated that in Germany he will make preparations for the official visit of President Mauricio Funes, scheduled for next year.
 
He will meet Foreign Ministers, Wido Westerwelle, and the Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel, who visited El Salvador this week.
 
Martinez will also meet members of the German-American Parliamentary Group and of the Friedrich Ebert and Rosa Luxemburg foundations.
Germany is the main buyer of Salvadoran products in Europe and a strategic partner in coffee exports, the report said.
