Brazil Coffee Output to Drop Up to 13% This Year, Conab Says

Coffee production in Brazil, the world’s biggest grower and exporter, will drop as much as 13 percent this year as trees enter the lower-yielding half of a two-year cycle, the Agriculture Ministry said.


Growers will harvest between 41.9 million bags and 44.7 million bags this year, down from 48.1 million bags last year, the ministry’s crop-forecasting agency, known as Conab, said today on its website.


One bag of coffee weighs 60 kilograms (132 pounds).
