(CoffeeNetwork) Brazil’s coffee output will rise to between 48 million and 50 million bags this year, Agriculture Minister Reinhold Stephanes said Monday, according to a report by Bloomberg News.

That would be up more than 26% on year from the 39.5 million bags picked in 09/10.
As reported, Brazil’s Conab agency will release its first 2010 coffee forecast tomorrow.

Conab said earlier Wednesday that the 10/11 crop will be a record, which would imply exceeding the-until-now record crop of 48.48 million bags harvested in 2002/03.
Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer and exporter. The country exports north of 30 million bags and consumes about 18 million bags.
