Mexico Coffee Exports Rose Almost 23% in December, Amecafe Says

Coffee exports from Mexico jumped nearly 23 percent in December, according to figures from a local industry group.
Shipments climbed to 163,190 bags from 133,202 bags in the same period a year earlier, national coffee association Amecafe said in an e-mailed statement today.
Exports for the 2011-12 season started in Oct. 1 climbed 52 percent to 515,032 bags, Amecafe data show.
A bag of coffee weighs 60 kilograms (132 pounds).
