The National Multi Commodity Exchange of
India Ltd (NMCE), pioneers of commodity trading in India, will kickstart a
national awareness programme on commodities trade from Kushalnagar in Kodagu
district on January three.

It would move to Kozhikode and other centres in stages. Each programme would
be addressed by eminent experts and target end-users of commodity trading like
the growers in the value chain.

NMCE Managing Director Kailash Gupta said in a release here today that it
made sense for the exchange to begin this initiative with a specific one
focussed on coffee growers as coffee was the highest traded commodity on Indian
exchanges.

”We believe such awareness programmes are key to expanding the penetration
of commodity trading in India, besides empowering end-users to make the best
decisions,” he added.
